The Google Camera app is getting a major UI overhaul with the Pixel 8 series

GSMArena.com - Latest articles

A source related to Android AUthority shared screenshots of the new Google Camera UI redesign, which will likely be introduced with the upcoming Pixel 8 lineup this fall. The last big design overhaul was back in 2019, so it's interesting to see what Google has in store for its Pixel users. The first thing to notice is the clear separation between the Photo and Video modes. A dedicated toggle at the very bottom of the app lets you choose whether you want to take a still or record a video. Only then can you choose the corresponding mode from the carousel. It's maybe realistic to expect the One UI 6 + Android 14 beta program for the Galaxy S22 family to kickstart in the coming weeks. Although the section is available only to the UK and Indian users, the beta program is expected to reach China, South Korea, Germany and the US as...

Samsung reportedly working on 1-inch 50MP, 200, 320 and 440MP sensors

According to tech leakster Revegnus on X, Samsung is working on four new high-end sensors - 50MP GN6, 200MP HP7, an unknown 320MP sensor and а 440MP HU1 one as well. However, the report claims that hardly any of these sensors will end up in a Galaxy S smartphone and are designated for other manufacturers and perhaps other industries as well. Starting with the 50MP GN6 sensor, which is arguably the most interesting of the bunch as it's going to be a 1-inch snapper with 1.6µm pixels and will likely compete with Sony's popular 1-inch IMX989 solution. WhatsApp finally lets you send higher resolution photos

GSMArena.com - Latest articles

One of the main downsides of sending photos through WhatsApp is the processing that goes on, lowering their size, resolution, and quality significantly (and very visibly). This, however, is finally going to be a thing of the past. At least the low resolution aspect, that is. Way overdue, but finally here, are "HD photos". In WhatsApp speak, "HD" in this case means up to 4096 x 2692 in resolution. You also still have the 'standard' quality option for whatever reason, which will resize everything to 1600 x 1052. Resolution is one thing, compression is another - and WhatsApp has stayed...

iPhone 15 Pro models might still come with 8GB of RAM

GSMArena.com - Latest articles

The iPhone 15 series is expected to arrive next month, potentially on September 12 or 13. As far as we know, only the Pro models (iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max) will use the new Apple A17 Bionic chipset, while the non-Pro models will still rely on the A16. As per a previous insider tip, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max were apparently still going to rock 6GB of RAM. Potentially of the faster LPDDR5 variety, supplied by Micron or Samsung, but 6GB nonetheless. Android 14 to combat in-app full-screen ads better

In Android 14, you can manually revoke the USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT permission from apps so they can't send you full-screen notifications. Samsung Galaxy Watch6 review

GSMArena.com - Latest articles

Introduction At first glance, Samsung was very docile with the upgrades to its Galaxy Watch6 series. But you could argue that there was very little wrong with the Galaxy Watch5 series and that all the upgrades we got were useful or thoughtful. The new watches use the new Exynos W930 chipset, which is nearly identical to last year's W920. Both are made on a 5nm process and have dual-core Cortex-A55 processors, but the new chip has a higher 1.4GHz clock speed, which Samsung says makes for an 18% increase in speed. The Watch6 series also bumps the RAM up to 2GB. On the software...
